David Pehu is a fourth generation winemaker for his family’s estate. His grandfather sold champagne under the Antonin Pehu label, and in the early 1970s his parents created Pehu-Simonet, with the introduction of vines from his mother’s side of the family. The estate has 7.5 hectares of vines and of them, 6 hectares are located in Grand Cru villages. His plantings lean heavily toward pinot noir but he has some chardonnay as well. Because his focus is on Grand Cru Champagnes, he sells the chardonnay and only uses the pinot noir for the estate.
Even though this champagne is 100% pinot noir because it is made in a blanc de noirs style, it is still white in color. Soft, light bubbles with notes of red fruit and spices.

In accordance with Pennsylvania liquor law, all of our bottle sales, including the wine club, will be pick-up only from our store inside Lawrenceville Market House.
