The Geoffroy family has been working on their small vineyard Vallée de la Marne for the last 400 years. Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy is a fifth generation winemaker, but a second generation Champagne producer. His father decided to pivot toward Champagne production in the 1970s after the family dabbled in it after World War II. The work on the vineyard follows sustainable practices, eschewing completely the use of chemical pesticides. This is unusual in Champagne, since the land is so prized most winemakers want a sure bet on yield. Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy and his father René farm 14 hectares of vines, 11 of which are in Cumières. A few parcels are located just across the border to the west in the adjacent village of Damery, while the rest is all meunier in the nearby village of Fleury-la-Rivière.
30 months on the lees. This full bodied champagne has notes of ripe pear and lemon zest balanced by the richness of buttery pastry. The finish has a finish mousse cut with a chalky minerality.

In accordance with Pennsylvania liquor law, all of our bottle sales, including the wine club, will be pick-up only from our store inside Lawrenceville Market House.
