The Pennachetti family came to the Niagara region in the early 1920s when Giuseppe Pennachetti emigrated from Fermo, Italy to work as a mason, building Niagara’s Welland Canal. After he retired, he started growing wine grapes, a return to a boyhood passion he developed while living in Italy. His son and grandson helped him with his hobby vineyard and in 1973, they decided to buy land and start making wine in earnest, planting some of the first riesling and chardonnay in the region. They founded Cave Spring Vineyard in 1982, which the family still runs today.
A dry and medium-bodied riesling with notes of grapefruit rind, yellow plum and a delicate acidity of lemon curd.

In accordance with Pennsylvania liquor law, all of our bottle sales, including the wine club, will be pick-up only from our store inside Lawrenceville Market House.
The sale will not be completed until you pick up your wine and present your valid US drivers’ license or passport. We are limited to 4 bottles (3L) per transaction. If you are interested in ordering more than 6 bottles, send us an email to info@nineoclockwines.com
